Subscription Addiction – White Willow

This month I have decided to try out a new subscription box for review called White Willow.

White Willow caught my attention because it is a Canadian subscription box. I looked through some other reviews to see what folks had received and decided the 49.95 price tag seemed worth it.

I signed up for 2 boxes and White Willow is unique in that it is a bi monthly box instead of monthly or seasonal. Let’s see what’s inside this month.

White Willow fully embraced the romance for this month’s box. Roses, chocolates. It was pretty dreamy to be honest.

Even this full sized toner smelled like rose heaven. It was a well curated assortment.

This adorable ring dish was probably my favourite item this month. It’s definitely going to be included in my new office decor.

Lastly, was a no name quilted crossbody purse. No brand, polyester and unattractive hardware. This was the real loss of an otherwise amazing subscription box. No clue why they would choose the obviously low quality item.

I paid a total of $94.90 for two boxes, making this a cost of $47.45. I don’t honestly feel like I got my money’s worth this month but aside from the purse, liked the items and the curation with the theme.

So the big romantic day has arrived, Valentine’s Day 2017!

My sweetie has been under the weather so we will have a low key celebration but he definitely didn’t miss the opportunity to still spoil me with chocolates and flowers (such a traditionalist)!

Of course I didn’t want to miss out on the special Valentine’s Day outfit either. I thought about a pink dress but since we won’t be going out on the town this week I chose something a little more Wild At Heart.

My Torrid sequin heart sweater was a perfect choice for the day (and pretty much all days if I’m being honest) and it’s so darn cute! I love the wide neck and grey is perfect for me these days. I love sequins but I typically shy away from them in clothes because they fall off quickly and all of a sudden it looks sloppy and you spent too much. This sweater is holding up though! I purchased this when it was first released in November and throw it in the washer AND dryer… not a single sequin has jumped ship!

I paired the sweater up with my new Junarose leather looking leggings from ASOS.

The front of the leggings are leather looking with a stretchy back. I love them and already know they will be a frequent for nights out. Kind of love them with the red booties that I scored from the now defunct shoeme. It was my go-to store for Canadian online shoe shopping so if any of you have great links for shoes let me know in the comments!!!!

And of course I needed to update my nails with a new colour and Jamberry. I’m wearing Grey Matter from X Factor (Sephora) with Jamberry Gray & Silver Stripe wrap.

Prelude to Romance

I was ranting to my GirlGang last night about how it’s not easy to be my size in this society – you have to tackles opinions (including your own) from every angle. But I also was preaching that I’m at a point in my life where I need to embrace what feels good, wear what I love and stop feeling less than.

Valentines Day is approaching and while it should be a time we fill with love and romance, some of us can find ourselves filled more with dread. Why? Because we want more than anything to feel beautiful, desired and sexy! I don’t need to tell you that the market is rather saturated with images of women scantily clad but not enough of them look like me, or I imagine you.
