Something has been annoying me; The Cold Shoulder.

I thought it might be a quick-to-fade fad but it’s hung around far too long.

Just to be clear, I’m totally fine with how these tops look on others. Here’s my real issues; they look horrible on me, plus size stores are filled with them and they are so often poorly fitted.

Can we please be done with this look already!

Dresses, blouses, tees, jumpers…. I’m so over this look. I want to keep my shoulders warm and when I want to show a sexy shoulder I love an off the shoulder top. Much more sultry…

Out of This World

Oh hello there!

Busy week for me and I’ll be honest, I haven’t gotten out of the house much! Working from home offers me so many amazing advantages but it does sometimes result in unwashed hair and yoga pants. I try to avoid that cliche as much as possible by picking out outfits I love, doing my hair and makeup…even when I do only have a video conference that day.

I’m loving my grape elbow patch dress for workdays. I can wear leggings or tights with it and still feel comfy and cozy while looking pretty.

I purchased the dress online from the super cute In Pursuit – a mobile boutique based out of Saint John, New Brunswick that I loved shopping out during my time out east. It’s actually set up in a big pink truck and sets up location all over the city. It’s adorable and you need to see it, but also they have an online store so I can keep shopping!

Wheeeee!

Seriously, I love this dress! I matched it with my We Love Colors splash tights! We Love Colors is my favourite place to purchase coloured tights. They have every colour you can dream of and even ones you didn’t even think of yet!

Empty Suitcase

I have to travel for work in a little less than a month. A week away seems a bit daunting especially when I look at my suitcase and think… what do I pack?! There will be casual work days, nice dinners and even evenings out and of course I want to look great and feel comfortable in whatever I choose. Plus it all has to fit in my suitcase.

Because I am obsessed with eShakti‘s knit wears, I’ll obviously be bringing along one of my dresses. They pack well, require no ironing and are SO COMFY! This one will likely be the winner…

You need at least one pair of fantastic jeans when you work for a young, hip and casual company. I’m thinking of trying out Charlotte Russe for jeans as they currently have a promotion; Buy 1 Get 1 for $12.50! These ones have caught my eye:

I’ve already got some great tops but I’ve completely fallen in love with Eloquii lately and I think I’m looking for an excuse to buy these…

So what’s left? Night out for dinner or drinking! The most fun of outfits but something I’m sorely lacking. Maybe this is my chance to fulfill one of my Style Resolutions with… a jumper?

The ASOS Curve jumpsuit with rose gold hair might be hip enough for a night on the town! Now the only problem is, with all these fabulous clothes I’ll need a second suitcase for shoes…

Wild At Heart – Valentine’s Day

So the big romantic day has arrived, Valentine’s Day 2017!

My sweetie has been under the weather so we will have a low key celebration but he definitely didn’t miss the opportunity to still spoil me with chocolates and flowers (such a traditionalist)!

Of course I didn’t want to miss out on the special Valentine’s Day outfit either. I thought about a pink dress but since we won’t be going out on the town this week I chose something a little more Wild At Heart.

My Torrid sequin heart sweater was a perfect choice for the day (and pretty much all days if I’m being honest) and it’s so darn cute! I love the wide neck and grey is perfect for me these days. I love sequins but I typically shy away from them in clothes because they fall off quickly and all of a sudden it looks sloppy and you spent too much. This sweater is holding up though! I purchased this when it was first released in November and throw it in the washer AND dryer… not a single sequin has jumped ship!

I paired the sweater up with my new Junarose leather looking leggings from ASOS.

The front of the leggings are leather looking with a stretchy back. I love them and already know they will be a frequent for nights out. Kind of love them with the red booties that I scored from the now defunct shoeme. It was my go-to store for Canadian online shoe shopping so if any of you have great links for shoes let me know in the comments!!!!

And of course I needed to update my nails with a new colour and Jamberry. I’m wearing Grey Matter from X Factor (Sephora) with Jamberry Gray & Silver Stripe wrap.

Winter Floral

Canadian weather gets me down! Snow then rain, ice then rain. I decided today’s outfit post needed to lift my spirits a little bit so it’s a little dressier than my typical working-from-home wear of sweaters and leggings.

It’s not an oversized hoodie and polka dot leggings but I assure you it’s just as comfy!

When I ordered this blouse from Torrid I was in love with the hi-lo style but wasn’t sure about the overall look and how it might suit me. Now it’s one of those outfits that everyone compliments me on each time I wear it!

Brighter than my usual black, navy or grey routine I feel feminine and pretty. I pair it with a Forever21 tank for layering in the cold and some high waisted jeggings from there as well.

Wrapping things up I’ve got my go-to everyday jewelry and some Jamberry nail wraps I’ve paired with Sephora polish!

I was ranting to my GirlGang last night about how it’s not easy to be my size in this society – you have to tackles opinions (including your own) from every angle. But I also was preaching that I’m at a point in my life where I need to embrace what feels good, wear what I love and stop feeling less than.

Valentines Day is approaching and while it should be a time we fill with love and romance, some of us can find ourselves filled more with dread. Why? Because we want more than anything to feel beautiful, desired and sexy! I don’t need to tell you that the market is rather saturated with images of women scantily clad but not enough of them look like me, or I imagine you. There is a new line of products featuring heavy cotton knits, asymmetrical patterns and some fabulous cowl necks!

Feeling like I might be cold forever in this grey winter, I snagged a bunch of these heavy knits thinking they would keep me fashionable while warm.

I bought the Cowl Neck Top in both black and navy. It is so easy to dress up or just get cozy in. I often pair it with legging for working from home but love it with jeans when heading out.

I paired the black top with my favourite Forever21+ high waisted jeggings and a pair of boots I picked up from their clearance section for under $20. With knee-high socks from Urban Outfitters, presto, perfect outfit for shopping with my GirlGang!

Did I mention this top has pockets?!

It’s also perfect with leggings due to it’s almost tunic length. Here I’ve paired it with my tattoo leggings from Torrid to channel my inner rockstar.

We Now Return To Our Program…

I’m blogging again! It’s a real thing that’s happening! I’m going to skip the preamble where I apologize, tell you about life and throw in a few excuses and instead just jump right to the part where we talk clothes again.Telling you all about the clothes I’m currently adding to cart or obsessing over seem like an excellent place to start again. Plus it will give you a general idea of my style (random, fun and typically too many polka dots)!

We still have a few months left of cold weather here in Ontario so no matter how hard I wish it, it’s not time for summer dresses yet. That being said, this amazing top from Forever21+ gives me a sense of satisfaction in that it’s a spring colour but looks super cozy and beyond stylish!

Grey skies and white snow seem to pair up perfectly with SocietyPlus+‘s rose gold sequin pants. I can’t help but imagine they’d look extra fabulous with my rose gold hair!

The ASOS CURVE Hummingbird Waist Belt speaks to my whimsical side. I love having unique details in every outfit and I’d love to pair this with a simple dress so all attention falls to it.

I’m fairly addicted to eShakti and their perfect fits and fantastic fabrics. I’m also pretty fond of polka dots. This shift dress is a no brainer.

I’m an avid online shopper and have had great success with these companies for fit, delivery and cost. I don’t let the online factor intimidate me but when first buying from a shoes of clothing site I will look for a few things:

size guide
shipping rates
return policy

I also look for a great deal or sale. I tend to make my first purchase from a site small and affordable so I can test out the sizing without making a huge leap. I know that ASOS sizes differently (UK sizing) and can run big on me where as Forever21 sizes are a bit small and their jeans are too short for my long legs! Sometimes I have the benefit of testing sizes out in store so online purchases become less intimidating but I encourage you to take the leap! If I had to shop only locally for plus size clothes I’d only have the option of Giant Tiger…
